Online Sunday Service

PHOTO-2026-10-05-10-52-40

An alternative to an 'in church' service for anyone who needs it whether through illness, absence
or just wanting to know more about us.
Weekly: 9:00am Sundays
Monthly: 1st Wednesday at 8:00pm, CbyC a contemplative service.

How it works:
For an online service everyone is at home, connected on a computer or tablet via the internet.
The content is just like a service in church - songs, prayers, teaching etc., and the service is led by our qualified Lay Ministers. On-screen words and images lead us through the service, which usually lasts 30 - 60 minutes. Optionally, people stay a while afterwards to chat and meet other people  (just like they do after any service in our churches). We use ‘Zoom’ for these services. Zoom cannot cope with lots of people speaking at the same time, so we mute everyone during the main part of the service,
but many people find that joining in at home with the songs and responses even though no-one else can hear them gives the feeling of active participation.

If you are already familiar with Zoom, all you need is this link, simply click it a few minutes before the starting time. Zoom works best using a computer or tablet, though a smartphone is also possible.

New to Zoom?
The link or QR code will take you to an introductory page where you can choose whether to join the meeting in your browser, or download the Zoom app.

First time round, you’ll be asked to allow access to your microphone and camera (choose ‘Yes’ to both) and provide the name that you like to use when chatting.

You can try a test meeting at any time here.

Planning your Visit

A Very Warm Hello!

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at each church at least one Sunday in the month. Please see each church on the 'Our Churches' page for details of when the service are. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you will be greeted by someone who will give you the service booklet and hymn book, they can also answer any questions you may have. Please do let them know if you have mobility challenges and will need communion brought to you.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the service. This is a great way to meet our welcoming church members, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

Our Service

The main service begins with notices about the benefice. Then follows a time of worship with hymns, prayers, scripture readings, a sermon based on scripture and the Eucharist (Holy Communion).

What about my children?

Each church has a children's area with toys and books for the children to play with, we ask that a grown up is with them at all times. Children are also very welcome to be with grown ups in the congregation where they can see and hear everything that is happening.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week/month, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Small Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.

Serving and Volunteering

If you want to get involved in the life of the church and help us make Sundays run smoothly, you can sign up to serve on a team please contact our Administrator who will put you in touch with the relevant people.
